225th Engineer Brigade:
Symbolism: Scarlet and white are the colors traditionally used by Engineer units. Gold represents the Brigade’s excellence in fulfilling the mission at peace and time of war. Black, symbolic of iron, alludes to the unit’s transition to armored engineering capabilities. The white bend suggests a landing strip and denotes the aviation mission of the predecessor unit. The tower signifies the 225th Engineer’s capabilities of heavy construction. The fleur-de-lis symbolizes the State of Louisiana, the unit’s area of operations.
Background: The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 8 November 2007.
