US Military Patches

564th Missile Squadron Morale
The first silver star denoted completion of 500 hours of silo time. A second star was awarded after another 500 hours, denoting a total of 1000 hours. Subsequent stars were awarded for each additional 1000 hours (e.g., three stars denoted 2,000 hours). Sometimes, the stars were embroidered on the patch rather than affixing the metal star devices. The embroidered stars were slightly larger than the metal versions.
